A.C.E. Off-Season Training Session 1: Standout Performers

Week 1 A.C.E. Off-Season Training the Standout Performers:
Athletes Creating Excellence
WR/DBs
Charles Headen (La Salle College High School) Class of 2016.
After logging in valuable time for the Explorers in 2013 as a Sophomore, Headen was clocked at a blazing 4.4 in the 40yd dash. This should come to no surprise since he was a sub-11sec 100m guy during track season. Headen also played some DB, ending the days 1on1 segment with an interception displaying concentration after the WR tipped the ball.

WR/DB
Ahkil Crumpton (West Catholic) Class of 2015
West Catholic is always loaded with above average talent. Crumpton is no exception. The shifty all purpose talent was relentless in 1on1s and during the skill part of camp. He is going to open eyes during this off-season of camps and showcases.
QB
Ryan Whayland (Episcopal Academy) Class of 2015
The Inter-Ac single season record holder was on hand displaying why he accomplished this feat. Whayland displayed exceptional timing and accuracy working with new receivers. He has a big arm and we look forward to him pushing the other QBs in camp.
Youth Performers:
WR
Anthony Gabriel (Mt Carmel Warriors)
Anthony's hard working attitude carried over from his season with the Warriors into the off-season training. Hustling at all times, Anthony was able to pull in some impressive catches from the QB.

Athlete
Donathan McCants (Frankford Chargers)
Has good range for his age. Learning to consistently catch with his hands, but looks comfortable when chasing down throws. It will be interesting to see how he develops!

Stay tuned for more as A.C.E. All-Position Training will continue every Friday from December 6th-March 28th.

Registration is still open. Go to www.ace-training.co to fill out a registration form or for more info.

2013 Football Promise

Summer is winding down. Family vacations are over. Daylight is becoming shorter. It is now time that you make a promise to yourself. Promise that you will not waste this opportunity. Promise that the blood and sweat lost in training will not be in vain. Promise yourself that the opportunity is now. The opportunity is now, that you will take every measure to get rid of that horrible feeling that has been lingering since the end of the last season. Promise yourself to do everything in your power to get rid that feeling of not being crowned champion. And if you are the reigning champion…then promise yourself that just because you were once the champion, that at this point it means nothing, other than that you now have a bull’s-eye on your back. Every opponent you face this season will be coming after you, but you will be ready.

Regardless of how you finished last season, the opportunity is now. The opportunity is now for the manifestation of the all of the work that you put in this off-season. The opportunity is now, to turn the preparation into results and victories. The opportunity is now, to embarrass the man across from you, because he did not sacrifice half of the time that you did beating your body into tip top shape.

All of the training that you went through was to become the best player that you can be, and it will be evident. Finally, the opportunity is now to return the favor to that guy who kicked your butt last season because you were not the player you are now. You have prepared yourself physically and mentally to take on any adversity that presents itself. The opportunity is now, to face that team that is the reason why you were watching the championship as a spectator last season. The opportunity is now, to show the world that you are going to shut-down that guy who is known to be the best in the league. The opportunity is now, to show people that you are the real deal and that you will be respected. The opportunity is now, to be a stand up student-athlete…take care of business in the classroom and be responsible outside, so there are no distractions to your teams path of success. The opportunity is now, to be that teammate who rises to the occasion when things get tough…to be the guy who makes everyone around him better because they see that you always give 110 percent! The opportunity is now, to become a winner.

I want to say good luck, but as the saying goes…“Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.” Well, the opportunity is now so I hope you are prepared.

Football is back.

Dear Signees-Your Gift on National Signing Day

Dear Signees,
You have been given an opportunity that the masses could only wish for. The level of football is not what is important here. Now, I am not asking that  mark your success on whether or not you become a NFL star. What I am asking is that you take this opportunity and run with it. It's easy to do what the majority is doing because the majority of people don't have to be conscious of the same things that you do. They don't have to worry about what they're posting on social media in fear of consequence. So don't follow their lead.

D1 Prospect Loses Opportunity

It's easy for the "regulars" to choose to go party instead of staying home when you have an assignment do in the morning. It's easy to say "yes" to the crowd doing things that will have negative consequences. It is up to you to know that the easy route is not the best route, but to take whatever route you have to, to become the best that you can possibly become. If it was easy waking up at 5am, go to workouts, go to film study, make it to every class, and evening study hall, all on time, then everyone would do it. (and I'm just talking about the off-season)

Fall from grace. From the top to bottom

Use what you are given and maximize/multiply this blessing for the betterment of self and family. Use this as a catipult to live out every thing that you've ever dreamed to achieve on and off the field. Realize that at any second the game that we all love can be taken away without you having a say. Be grateful everyday.

All I ask is that you stay true to self and reach for the stars. Be mindful that there will be more negative influences and more tough times than good. If you keep faith and family first, follow your heart in making good choices, surround yourself with like-minded people, take negative and positive experiences and learn from them, and appreciate the good people around, you will have nothing less than great fortune. You have a chance to be GREAT!
