Philadelphia has been at an all-time low in recent years. With violent crimes showing no end, the unguided youth are the usual suspects behind a most of it. The truth of the matter is there may be enough blame to go around, but our communities have to look into solutions and not excuses. Athletics have been known to be an effective solution for getting young men in the city activel in something constructive and away from things that are destructive.
Sports can occupy that well known idol time that is being spent unproductively video gaming or getting in trouble. Being involved in athletics also teaches young men priceless lessons on how to become a man. When you get involved in athletics you learn teamwork, dedication, accountability, and perseverance, all formulas for success.Who better to teach middle school to high school age kids how to handle the pressures of the streets, where the benefits of committing to education are, and other things that are going to brighten their future, but men who were once in their shoes? Let me introduce you to the Philly Football Skills Academy!
So much knowledge is being shared at these weekly workouts, it's amazing. The level of playing/coaching experience of the men who run the program varies to every level; internationally, Arena, and the NFL. Any student-athlete that is fortunate enough to attend, will undoubtedbly get their “money’s worth.” The best part of it all is there no money involved!...You heard right it's F-R-E-E...All of this absolutely free of cost!
If you are wondering if you or your son should attend, parents of attendees are constantly expressing how impressed they are by the improvements that the kids are making both on the field and in the classroom. The word is getting out and student-athletes are coming from all over the city including (New Jersey and New York) to receive tutelage and mentoring from these coaches.
The men who are out there with the players are fathers, educators, coaches, and mentors who have devoted their time to give these kids the opportunities that they deserve. The beneficiaries are the 100 student-athletes who dedicate there Sunday mornings.
So instead of news reports on the negative that goes on involving the youth from the city there needs to be a story or this positive program that is grooming young men from boys to men.
The Philly Football Academy is getting young men off the streets, keeping young men active, getting young men involved in team activities, and connecting them with positive male role models. *CHECK, CHECK, CHECK*… So please share this with your family, friends, co-workers who have a young-man running around in need of some direction.
